The modular design of MOC200 Regional Tissue Oximeter makes the product much simpler and more fashionable. As special monitoring in intensive care of the patient's brain, a specific wavelength of non-invasive, low-intensity near-infrared light is used, which can penetrate the scalp and skull into the brain's grey matter. A proximal photodetector detects the light intensity reflected from the extracerebral tissue. The monitor's built-in processor uses the measured parameters to calculate the brain tissue's oxygen content according to a specific algorithm. This enables real-time monitoring of the patient's brain oxygen saturation value and reduces the risk of brain death due to hypoxia in intensive care.
